Disable WordPress Auto Update

Since about version 3.7 the WordPress Auto Update function has been included in all WordPress sites. The problem is that there is no way to simply disable WordPress auto update. Lock Down & Limit WordPress Login Attempts Using .htaccess

You CAN lock down the WordPress login with some .htaccess rules to prevent unauthorized login attempts. There have now been several large scale WordPress wp-login.php brute force attacks, coming from a large amount of compromised IP addresses spread across the world since April of last year. Excluding yourself ... View Post

When you're a busy blogger, and these days I'm super busy, the administration of your blog can sometimes add to the stress of everyday business. I've located three Must Have plug-ins for Wordpress 2.9.2 and for me, they've been life savers. The first plug-in, I found at Remarkablogger. Michael always posts the BEST tips and this time he had Ari Herzog guest post about a wonderful plug in from Joost deValk. I get the newsletter from Yoast.com, but apparently this little goodie slid right past ... View Post

Add TwitterComment Link And A Little Magic

There's a lot of magic going on around here, and not the least of which is some awesome changes I'm making to the site.  More about that later. I've already added in a couple of features and you've been curious. I share all my tips and tricks and since these are kind of lengthy, I'll share them with you here. Back in February of last year, I shared another kind of tricky tip for adding numbers to your comments.  I still get questions about how to do that from bloggers running contests and ... View Post
